Queen of the Mountain TBD 2018

The 2018 Queen of the Mountain date is undecided.

Come to Bryce Bike Park in August for the annual Queen of the Mountain event.  This is a celebration of skills triumphing over fears. Enjoy bettering your mountain bike skills through practice with professional and experienced female instructors.  Located in the heart of beautiful Virginia mountains, Bryce resort is our host for this all women’s event. There will be  clinics led by professional and enthusiastic instructors for both experienced and beginner mountain bikers.

Saturday is a full day of instruction and riding at Bryce Bike Park with certified instructors, Sue Haywood and Kelly Hazlegrove and Marlie Smith. This is geared towards women who have already taken a mountain bike skills clinic and have some experience mountain biking on singletrack trails. The teaching will be both at the bottom of the mountain and we will be riding the chairlift to do the mountain trails. Full face helmet and pads are required. A downhill bike is not required. A light, delicious lunch is provided as well as refreshing beverages.

Sunday is a half day for beginners , advanced beginners and more timid riders. Learn skills that allow you to ride with more skill and confidence. Skills taught will be balanced body positions for various terrain, cornering, small drops and wheel lifts. We will practice skills at the bottom of the mountain and ride the chairlift for practice on Sundowner Trail, a green trail. This group will be taught by Sue and another certified instructor. Full face helmet and pad are highly recommended for riding the chairlift. A downhill bike is not required. Snacks and drinks at the break are provided.

There will be a discount given on lift tickets and bike rentals at Bryce. Lift tickets will be $25 and Rental, Lift ticket with damage wavier will be only $100.
